Hammad Haider is an Arabic calligrapher, Islamic artist and architect whose work fuses Arabic calligraphy with architectural forms, cultural motifs and Islamic geometry. His compositions often tell visual stories, with each piece constructed from calligraphic words that relate directly to the scene depicted.
His portfolio includes works inspired by Makkah, Madinah and Al Aqsa, alongside pieces responding to contemporary events and narratives, bringing symbolic depth to the medium. Through his practice, Hammad bridges tradition and design, combining precision, structure and expressive form.
He has delivered Arabic calligraphy workshops at universities, mosques, community centres and corporate settings across the UK, and regularly participates in community initiatives. His work has been featured in Bayt Al Fann’s quarterly Art of the Word and on Islam Channel’s Today Show. Hammad has also designed Arabic calligraphy book covers for Hafsa Faizal’s The Sands of Arawiya duology**, as well as for The Haramayn Guide’s Umrah Guide, and recently completed a mural for the forthcoming Piccadilly Community Centre in the London Trocadero, marking a decade of The Aziz Foundation.
