COMMUNITY LANTERN PROJECT

Lanterns, or fanoos, have long been a symbol of hope and light during Ramadan, illuminating streets and homes in a dazzling display of colour. Inspired by the vibrant traditions of places like Cairo - where children run through the streets singing old Ramadan songs with lanterns in hand - we invite you to take part in our Community Lantern Project.

This year, we’ve designed a special lantern template for you to decorate at home or within your community. Whether your creation is traditional or a modern interpretation, we encourage you to share your creativity with us!

How to participate:

Download the lantern template below.

Get creative and design your own unique lantern.

Share your designs on social media, tagging @azizfndn and using #RamadanLightsLondonand #SpreadTheLight.

Together, let’s create a virtual gallery of lanterns that shines across communities, spreading joy, creativity, and the spirit of Ramadan far and wide!
