SHARED LIGHT - SNEHA CHOWDHURY

Biography

Sneha Chowdhury is a self-taught artist, musician, writer, poet and workshop facilitator. A graduate in English Literature from the University of Cambridge, with a subsequent conversion to Law, her interdisciplinary background informs a practice that explores the relationship between art, time and consciousness.

Inspired by a deep sense of awe for nature - which she understands as a manifestation of Divine artistry - Sneha’s paintings become meditations on temporality, perception and creation. Working primarily in acrylic and often drawing on lyrical and poetic sensibilities, she seeks to suspend moments, extending attention and inviting viewers into heightened awareness of light, texture and presence.

Her practice is closely connected to community and charity. Sneha has donated original works to the Cambridge Islamic Society annual charity auction, helping raise over £11,000 for orphans worldwide, and has independently led print initiatives raising additional funds for humanitarian causes. Her work has also been exhibited at Spitalfields Studio. Across her practice, she approaches art as a shared act - one that cultivates reflection, generosity and gratitude.
